Welcome to The Performers House, home to aspiring actors, models, dancers, writers, photographers, make-up artists, directors, cinematographers, musicians, singers, etc. They feel at home, because they are home.
Established in 2001, the primary goal of Performers House is to help the stars of tomorrow launch and transition through the L.A. film industry without having to do it alone.
Performers House was designed to be a safe, supportive environment for struggling artists who are ACTIVELY trying to break into the entertainment industry. We are here to encourage and help them to learn, practice and pursue their craft, to achieve their ultimate passion in whatever field they choose.
Performers House creates a networking opportunity unlike anything else out there, where entertainers are surrounded by like-minded peers pursuing mutual goals.
The P.H. has seen many talented residents pass through its doors. Some go on to establish stable working careers in the entertainment industry while others come to the realization that "showbiz" just isn't meant for them after all. In every case, each resident is offered an opportunity to embrace their dreams with the unique support and caring affirmation of those at Performers House.
A PROMISE MADE, A PROMISE KEPT
The Performers House is run by Christy Gillette, aka 'Reelmom', who founded this talent incubator at the request of her daughter Katie, a talented singer/actress whose untimely death at the age of 14 from cystic fibrosis both touched and broke the hearts of many.
Katie was always eager to mentor those she considered less fortunate. Due to her shortened life expectancy, she received scholarships from several dance and acting schools. She would then pass on everything she had learned to a group of underprivileged kids in her community, helping them form dance teams and make short films. Whenever she herself booked a film project, she would get permission for her 'kids' to do background work.
For this reason, when Katie was told she had only days to live, she asked her mother to carry on her 'mission,' helping to provide other disadvantaged young people with the same opportunites she had received. "Please help others as if you were doing it for me."

Accordingly, Christy established this "House of the Rising Stars" to help other talented young people who could not otherwise afford to stick it out in this industry.
The Performers House program includes free classes in acting, career counseling and portfolio development. Low-cost headshots and demo-reel production are also available. Progress is evaluated several times a year at performance showcases before an audience of peers and a panel of industry professionals.
"All I ask," says Christy, "is that when you 'make it', you pay it forward - giving other dedicated young performers the same 'hand up' that Performers House has extended to you."
Located just above the congestion of Los Angeles in scenic Newhall, Performer's House is the perfect place to unwind and yet be as close to the action as you want to be.
In a house full of ambitious, like-minded, creative young professionals, you will be challenged and encouraged to excel in your chosen field.

If you are passionate about transforming lives through the medium of film, dance, stage and music, welcome home.
